Hi! Are the full size vans like a ford transit considered an oversized vehicle? And would I need to park in Toy Story parking lot?

Hi, Abi, and welcome back to planDisney! We always love when you stop by with your great questions. I hope this means you are planning a visit to the Happiest Place on Earth soon! It's a great time to go as Disneyland's 70th Celebration is happening right now for a limited time - party of the decade!

The Disneyland Resort does provide convenient parking for Guests with vehicles of various sizes who are experiencing Disneyland Park and California Adventure Park. At Disney, 'Oversize Vehicles' usually refers to shuttles, campers, dually trucks, limos, etc., so larger vans, like the particular type you mentioned, should qualify as a standard vehicle. However, the decision is ultimately up to the Cast Member who is attending the parking lot on the day of your visit.

If it's helpful for your planning, my planDisney pal recently reported that the vehicle clearance at the Mickey & Friends Parking Structure entrance was 13 feet and 10 inches. She suggested that if you can clear the entrance, you may want to drive in and check with the friendly Cast Member at the booth to confirm the clearance throughout each level of the parking structure. Good advice!

But let's talk about the Toy Story Parking Area, as you mentioned! In my experience, the Toy Story Parking Area is more convenient than the other parking structures as there is rarely a back-up of cars waiting to enter and you don't have to drive up a ramp to circle the levels for a spot. Exiting seems to be quicker, too - likely because it's a surface lot! If I were you, Abi, I might just utilize the Toy Story Parking Area anyway to alleviate any worry, as it can accommodate oversized vehicles.

From the Toy Story Parking Area, you may want to save some steps by taking advantage of the complimentary bus, which will bring you (non-stop) to the Disneyland Main Entrance. The last buses to the Toy Story Parking Area leave about one hour after the last theme park has closed for the night. So, hopefully, that helps with your planning, Abi!

Quick Tip: Take advantage of the complimentary Car Locator feature in the Disneyland app! After a long, magical day in the parks, Abi, this feature is parking pixie-dust and will help you find your car when the early drop off is but a faint memory. I wish I took my own advice and used it after a runDisney event. I probably logged more steps finding my car than the actual half-marathon! To find it on the Disneyland app, click on the hamburger icon in the bottom right corner, then scroll down to "Car Locator." Easy! Though the Car Locator works best when you have Location Services, Bluetooth and Notifications enabled, you can also manually enter your parking details. That works too!

I hope you have the most magical visit to the Happiest Place on Earth, Abi! If you have any other questions that come up in your planning, like maybe some strategies to make sure you hit all your top priorities or the best 70th Celebration entertainment offerings (spoiler alert: it's all of them!), stop on by with another question! I'm always happy to chat about Disneyland - anytime.

    Warmest wishes,
    McCayla
