Hi there, Kristy, and welcome to planDisney! I'm thrilled that you're here with this great question about your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation! It will be here before you know it, and now is a great time to think about the details that will help you have a seamless visit.
Kristy, the dining plan is a great value-add for your vacation. We love that it allows us to plan ahead! It sounds like you might already have an idea of where you'd like to dine during your visit. The guidelines for the
Disney Dining Plan state that Guests ages three to nine must order off the children's menu, where available. I suggest chatting with your Server to see if any accommodations might be made at that particular dining location, or if there are items that are similar across both the adult and children's menu.
While you're welcome to share your adult meal with your son, I realize that might not be a great long-term solution. Happily, there are many dining locations where all Guests are treated to the same menu. All-you-care-to-enjoy buffets and family-style restaurants include some of my favorites, like
Tusker House Restaurant,
Sebastian's Bistro,
'Ohana, and
Cape May Cafe.
Kristy, I hope this is helpful to you as you begin to make plans for dining. Remember that you can make your
Advance Dining Reservations 60 days before you check in! If you have any other questions or would like more advice from a fellow mom, you have a friend in me!
See ya real soon!
