Friends with a 2 1/2 yr old with a serious (terminal) medical condition are coming to WDW next month. I heard Disney has "special" accomodations for kids who may need medical care while visiting. I need more info ASAP on who to contact. Sorry so

    Hi Jodi!

I believe you may be referring to the Give Kids the World Village which is a most magical place for children, between the ages of 3 and 18 years old, who have been diagnosed by a licensed doctor with a life-threatening illness. However, I know that exceptions to the eligible age requirement can be submitted in writing to Give Kids the World management for approval. Wish vacations are typically granted through partnering wish-granting organizations. My advice to you is to contact your local wish-granting organization and explain your friends' circumstances. There are over 250 wish-granting organizations, and children's hospitals nationwide, that partner with Give Kids the World to grant children with life threatening illnesses their special wish vacation to Central Florida. You can find a complete list at www.gktw.org. Alternatively, please contact Give Kids the World Vacation Planning directly at 1 - (800) 550-6613 or (407) 396-1114 Ext. 4300 to inquire about the best way to arrange the child's wish trip on such short notice. Thank you for writing to our Moms Panel and please know that my prayers are with your friends' family.
