We have friends visiting WDW in August, can they use the magic bands we received for our last trip.

Hi, Kelly! Thanks for stopping by with your question for the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

While it's nice of you to offer to let your friends use your MagicBands for their upcoming visit to Walt Disney World, unfortunately the MagicBands are non-transferable. Once you link a MagicBand to your account, it becomes unique to the individual Guest it's assigned to. If someone else were to try to use it to enter a Theme Park, the light on the Mickey-head touchpoint wouldn't turn that beautiful green, but a sad blue, so the Cast Members would be unable to let them enter.

If your friends are not staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, their tickets will come in the form of admission cards that work just like the MagicBands. They can still make their FastPass+ selections up to 30 days in advance, and use the admission cards both for park admission and to enter those FastPass+ attractions. If they'd still like to sport their own MagicBands, they can buy them in the Theme Parks and some Resort hotel shops at Walt Disney World, or online at the Disney Store.

And of course, you can reuse the MagicBands for your own future trips, so hold on to them for your next adventure!

I hope this helps your friends as they plan their Walt Disney World vacation, Kelly. Please come visit us again if you have any more questions!

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
