My friends and I will be staying off property for our upcoming trip in May. How will FastPass+ selections work? Also, how do magic bands/park tickets work? This is my first time coming to The World, and staying off property since all the big changes. Thx!

    Hello, Dara!

I'm so excited for you! You will make many wonderful memories spending time with friends at the Walt Disney World Resort.

Guests staying off property can begin reserving their FastPass+ experiences 30 days prior to their arrival. In order to do this, just link your valid theme park tickets to your My Disney Experience account (web or mobile app). I suggest taking a look at experiences that offer FastPass+ and creating a "wish list" so you have a plan ready when your selection window opens.

You can use your theme park ticket or buy a MagicBand to gain access to the theme parks and FastPass+ queues. I like the convenience of using my MagicBand so I don’t' have to worry finding my theme park ticket for each FastPass+ attraction. In addition, you can "collect" all your photos from Disney PhotoPass Service using your MagicBand.

If you do decide to purchase a MagicBand, you can choose a solid color or a limited release retail one. Limited release retail MagicBands, MagicBand-its and MagicSliders can be found at select Walt Disney World Resort merchandise locations. If you want a solid color or a few accessories before you arrive, take a look at the Disney Parks online store

I hope this helps to answer your questions, Dara. Please visit us again if you have other planning questions!

Have a magical time making memories!
