we are 2 friends with a room only reservation in Nov 2021. We arrive the same day at different times. To avoid the first person to arrive paying entire amount, can we each put half on our credit cards as we arrive?

Hi Shelley! Welcome back to planDisney.

Your question made me smile because I have had several wonderful Walt Disney World vacations with friends. My dear friend and fellow panelist, Missy F., and I had a super fun sleepover at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge where we drank cocktails at Sanaa and spent hours drinking coffee and talking on our balcony while we watched the animals roam around. So many great memories! You and your friend will have a blast.

My recommendation is to call (407) 939-7675 and make a payment on your room-only reservation by speaking with a friendly Cast Member. At this time, payments cannot be made using My Disney Experience for room-only reservations. One of you could call and pay your half, and then the person checking in first could pay the other half upon arrival. Always be sure to check the Terms and Conditions to be sure you're making your payment at the correct time based on your reservation's terms.

Because the balance is due upon check-in, you won't be able to only pay half. If you could wait for the second Guest to arrive, you could both stop at the front desk together and use two credit cards to pay your balance as part of the check-in process. However, Online Check-In is strongly recommended at this time to encourage distancing, and I find it really convenient to complete check-in ahead of time so I can head straight to my room as soon as I receive the text with my room number. You can even open your resort hotel room door with your My Disney Experience Mobile App!

Something I've done with my friends (four of us split a room one) is to use an electronic payment transfer app to send the money to the person making the full payment. That might be the easiest way to split the payment.

I hope this helps you decide how to split the payment on your room reservation, Shelley! As you count down to your November visit, be sure to read the Disney Parks Blog for the latest news and updates.
