Hi, Kristen! Welcome to planDisney!
Like you, I'm also the parent of a neurodivergent child. My teenage son is on the autism spectrum, and he has been visiting Walt Disney World Resort since he was a preschooler. Before your trip, I recommend taking a look at the
Services for Guests with Disabilities webpage to see if any of the available accommodations would be helpful for your kiddo.
Enjoying a fireworks show is the perfect way to end a magical day. If your family would be more comfortable watching the fireworks away from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks, several options are available. If you're hoping to enjoy
Happily Ever After at Magic Kingdom Park, one of the dessert party options would be perfect. The
Seats & Sweets Dessert Party gives Guests a table at Tomorrowland Terrace where they can enjoy some delicious desserts and stay to watch the fireworks. There are also
Pre-Party and
Post-Party options that allow Guests to have their treats at Tomorrowland Terrace either before or after the fireworks. These parties provide a reserved fireworks viewing area near Cinderella Castle in the Plaza Garden. Although you won't have seating during Happily Ever After, the Plaza Garden area is my favorite spot to watch the show.
Ferrytale Fireworks: A Sparkling Dessert Cruise and
private specialty cruises are both great choices if you'd like to enjoy Happily Ever After from the water outside of Magic Kingdom Park. You can also book a private specialty cruise to take in a performance of
EPCOT Forever. If you're interested in enjoying the fireworks at EPCOT, the
Rose & Crown and
Spice Road Table Fireworks Dining Packages also offer reserved viewing.
When exploring your options for fireworks viewing, please keep in mind that
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is taking place on select nights throughout the fall season. During these specially ticketed events, Happily Ever After is not performed. However, if you're attending one of the parties, there is a
dessert party available during the special Halloween fireworks show.
Another thing to consider is that many of these reserved viewing experiences sell out 60 days in advance. If you're unable to book one of these parties but would like to watch the fireworks from a quieter location, all three resort hotels along the
monorail route offer beautiful Magic Kingdom Park fireworks views.
Wishing you a magical Walt Disney World Resort visit!
