Friends coming to Disney same time as us, need to be able to call/text but our Cdn pay-as-you-go phones will not be any good in the US. Can we buy cell phones and minute cards at Disney and how much are they? Thanks!!

    Ellen:

Unfortunately, after the VirginMegastore at Downtown Disney closed, your options for purchasing a cell phone on Disney property became nil...

You need to do a little research before your trip. I recommending visiting Virgin's site at www.virginmobileusa.com and checking out their plans by clicking the link on the bottom left-hand side of the initial welcome page. Their basic Jax phone is $9.99 and you can purchase the Beyond Talk plan starting at $25. I don't know if they ship to Canada, but if they don't, you can always have it shipped to your resort to wait on your arrival! With some web-surfing, you might be able to come up with some better deals, too.

Another option if you are traveling to the US any time soon or will be renting a car while in Orlando, is to consider buying a Tracphone from Wal-Mart. There are several Wal-Marts in Kissimmee including one just off of 535. You can activate it with an Orlando zipcode and your calls will be considered local.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
