can my friends and i buy our disneyworld tickets separately, but still be able to link the tickets together for rides and such?

Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, Constance!

You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney!  Thanks so much for dropping by with a question about your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort visit.  As it just so happens, you and your friends are going to be visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth during one of my favorite times of the whole year –– the holiday season!  With special offerings and beautiful decorations, it feels like everything is covered in an extra layer of pixie dust.  And as your visit gets closer, be sure to keep an eye on Disney Parks Blog for the upcoming release of their Foodie Guide to this year's holiday season –– that way, you'll be fully prepared for a festive (and tasty) visit!

I've got some great news –– even if you and your friends purchase your Walt Disney World theme park admission separately, you'll absolutely be able to link your My Disney Experience accounts so you can book things like your Genie+ Lightning Lane access together as a group.  To make that happen, you'll just need to be sure you're all connected to one another through your My Disney Experience Friends & Family list. Personally, I think the easiest way to link an account is right from the My Disney Experience mobile app. To do this, you and a friend will each need to open up your respective apps and while one of you scrolls to the bottom of the screen to select "Link to Account", the other person will need to tap on "My Profile" and then choose "Show My Linking Code" from the menu.  Once the QR code is open, the other person should tap the blue "Open Camera" button and then scan that QR code to follow the onscreen prompts and link your accounts. From there, you can repeat the process for all the members of your traveling party to make sure everyone is connected and you'll be all set to make your Disney Park Pass reservations, Genie+ selections, and more, once you arrive at Walt Disney World Resort.

I hope this helped to answer your question, Constance, and I really appreciate you visiting planDisney.  If you think of more questions as your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort visit gets closer, please don't hesitate to stop by again –– we're always here to help!

    Have a Magical Day,
