I have a friend with an upcoming Disney cruise, she tried to do her online check-in but it is pending approval. How long does it take for that to be approved? Also, is she able to link her magic bands to her Cruise?

Ahoy there, Stephanie! Welcome aboard planDisney! I'm so glad to have you alongside so we can answer your questions! How nice of you to be asking your question on behalf of your friend! That's what I call some high-quality friendship!

Like Olaf said, we'll call her "Samantha"...Samantha?...ha! I don't even know a Samantha, haha!

When it comes to online check-in, if your friend has uploaded her information, pictures, and documents, and submitted, then she's done everything she can! At this point, crew members will  look through all of the information to validate and verify everything is "ship shape" and can be approved! Now it's important to remember that this process can take a long time, however, it's usually cleared within a week before sailing!

If hasn’t been approved within 3-4 days, I definitely suggest calling a crew member directly to confirm that no additional or replacement information is necessary! Oh, and to speed things along when submitting your security photos for your party, be sure you're not wearing a mask, mickey ears, glasses, or accessories! If there is a problem with your photo, a crew member will reach out to you.

Speaking of accessories, unfortunately, MagicBands have not been integrated into the Disney Cruise Line experience, so there's no way to have them do anything other than be the most Disney-centric fashion accessory aboard the ships! I've always DREAMed that one day the MagicBand will make an appearance onboard the Disney Cruise Line fleet as a way to interact with things around the fleet - but that's just a wish upon a star at this point!

Still, there's just something about the Key To The World Card that screams "I'm on vacation starting NOW" that not even a MagicBand can compare to! Plus, I don't think the MagicBand could fit in the slot that controls the lights in the staterooms of the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy...haha!

Well, Stephanie, I hope that gives you enough information to send "Samantha's" way in a bottle! Thank you so much for your question, and if you or ANY of your friends see any other questions bubble to the surface as your Disney Cruise Line vacations get closer, you know where to find us at planDisney!

    Fair winds and following seas!
