A friend told me to wait at the front gate of Magic Kingdom when the park opens to see all the characters arrive. Does that happen?

    Hi Kelly,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel - it’s absolutely wonderful to see you again!

I have some truly fond memories of the welcome show that used to take place at Magic Kingdom Park every morning near the train station at the entrance to Main Street U.S.A. Now, there’s a brand new welcome show called “Let the Magic Begin” that takes place at Cinderella Castle every morning, where Mickey and his friends welcome everyone to Magic Kingdom Park when it officially opens for the day. This no longer takes place at the Park's "front gate" but rather inside the Park itself.

The great thing about this new show is that there is lots of space for Guests to be able to get a great view of the stage and when you’re making your way up to Cinderella Castle, several of the shops (including my personal favourite, Main Street Bakery) should be open up to an hour before the show for you to grab a quick bite to eat or some coffee while you wait for the Park to open.

I hope my answer helps you plan the perfect day at Magic Kingdom Park! Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions!

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
