A friend told me there of a restaurant called the Contemporary, if you eat there they give you a ticket so you can watch the fireworks from their roof. I can only find the resort, but nothing that mentions rooftop views for fireworks. Ideas?

    Hi Patricia,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question!

Your friend is referring to one of my favourite restaurants in Walt Disney World: California Grill located inside Disney’s Contemporary Resort. The restaurant is located on the 11th floor of that Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, so you get a pretty spectacular view to complement the pretty spectacular meal that you’re sure to have while you’re there.

You don’t need to purchase a separate “ticket” in order to enjoy Magic Kingdom Park’s nighttime fireworks show from California Grill’s outside observation deck (or even from your table, if you’re lucky enough to get a table with a view of Magic Kingdom Park). If you finish your meal before the fireworks start, you can either grab another drink at the California Grill Lounge (first come, first served seating) and wait there OR you can leave the restaurant and come back at least 20 minutes or so before the fireworks are scheduled to start. All you’ll need to do is bring your receipt to the check-in desk on the 2nd floor for reentry to California Grill and then you’ll be able to enjoy the show either from California Grill Lounge or the outside observation deck.

Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions about your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort.

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
