Hi there, Emma! Thanks for stopping by planDisney. Just a few more sleeps until you and your friend arrive at the Happiest Place on Earth. I’m sorry to hear about your friend’s knee surgery and hope she’s off to a speedy recovery. Disneyland Resort does a great job accommodating Guests with their individual needs - one of the million reasons I love visiting!
Disability Access Service (DAS) is a great program to support Guests who have difficulty waiting in line for long periods of time.
DAS enables you to schedule return times for attractions, to avoid waiting in traditional standby queues. Your friend may qualify for DAS. Between 2-30 days prior to your visit, you can
request a live chat through DAS Advance, and if approved for DAS, the helpful Cast Members can help you get registered. Just be sure your friend is present for the live chat.
If you’re unable to complete the live chat prior to two days before your visit, Hakuna Matata – it means no worries! You can visit a Guest Services location when you arrive, and they can assist you. At Disneyland Park, you can stop by City Hall, and at Disney California Adventure Park, swing by Chamber of Commerce. Both are near the entrances of the respective parks.
Another great option for access to shorter lines is
Disney Genie+. The shorter queues, called
Lightning Lanes, are a great way to decrease the time you spend waiting in line. Genie+ can be used in conjunction with DAS. If you didn't add Genie+ to your tickets at time of purchase, you can still add it once you have entered the parks, via the app. Go to My Genie Day, My Day, and you'll see a link to add it.
In case your friend needs a
wheelchair or electric conveyance vehicle rental, you can inquire about this upon arrival. They don’t take reservations, so it’s a good idea to get there early.
Wishing you and your pal a magical time!
