Hi Cheryl, welcome to planDisney!
Disney friendships are some of my most cherished relationships. I’m glad to hEAR you’ve found your own Disney ‘Ohana. When planning for your upcoming
Walt Disney World Resort vacation, it’s important to connect with all members of your planning party in My Disney Experience. There are a couple of ways to do this.
When your friend linked the admission tickets to his
My Disney Experience account, he was asked to link each ticket to an individual. If you have your own My Disney Experience account and were connected as Family and Friends at that time, you should be able to see your ticket in your account. If this wasn’t the case, your friend added a profile with your name that he currently manages under his account. You are welcome to maintain this relationship moving forward. I manage my parents’ profiles under my My Disney Experience account, which means I am in charge of making their park pass reservations, dining reservations, Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane reservations, Individual Lightning Lane purchases, etc.
If you would prefer to make your own reservations, Cheryl, you are welcome to create your own account. Your friend would then need to click "update" next to your name in his Family and Friends list
online, then "Share planning with Cheryl." He will enter your email address and click "Continue," which will automagically send an email invitation to your inbox. Once you accept the invitation, any plans your friend made for you will be transferred to your Disney account and you have successfully avoided a duplicate profile. I recommend having your own My Disney Experience account if you plan on taking full advantage of Disney Genie+ service. My husband and I like having our own accounts in the parks because it gives us the flexibility to split up with the kids and have access to the
Disney Genie Tip Board,
Lightning Lane selections, and our
Disney PhotoPass images in the My Disney Experience mobile app. As long as you and your friend are connected as Family and Friends in My Disney Experience, you should be able to see each other's plans and make plans for each other throughout your Disney days.
You’ve got a friend in planDisney, Cheryl. If we can be of further assistance as you continue making plans, we’re all EARS.
Choose magic,
Jennifer
