Hi my friend and I are taking my 3 children age 14 10 & 5 to WDW 30//11-14/12/2013 staying at POR we have the quick service dining plan any tips or ideas would be gratefully received thanks x

    Hello Grace,

Your trip is so close that I bet you all are just bursting with excitement. You are also going at a really magical time of year. Here are some of my tips and favorite activities beyond the typical theme park fun!

First, as you plan your days, try to pick 3-4 must-dos such as attractions, shows, parades, meet and greets and make sure you get to those first or at least make them the priority as you navigate the parks. This way, you won't go home regretting not getting to something you really wanted to ride or see. This will also help your stress level down. While you don't want to overplan, you at least want to go in with some sort of plan! I hope that makes sense. Also, involve the kids in these choices. Perhaps you can ask each kid what 3-4 things are they most wanting to do or see. This makes the planning and experience fun for everyone!

Next, I would highly recommend going to see Yee-Haa Bob at Port Orleans Riverside at the River Roost. While there is not an official schedule of his performances listed, he typically performs Wednesday-Saturday evenings beginning around 8:30pm. Be sure to get there early, as he is EXTREMELY popular and VERY entertaining. You will have fun and so will the kids.

There are also many other activities available at your resort including fishing, surrey bike rentals, and kayaking, not to mention the fun pools! DisneyQuest in Downtown Disney is a great place to go with kids, too, on a day you are taking a break from the parks. Keep in mind that you do need separate admission for this indoor theme park, but it is one of the options if you have the Water Park Fun and More option.

Lastly, some of my favorite quick-service restaurants are Columbia Harbour House in Magic Kingdom, Sunshine Seasons in the Land Pavilion at Epcot, Fairfax Fare in Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Flame Tree Barbecue at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

    Have a magical trip!
