My friend and I are staying at Poly for our 1st 2020 WDW Dopey Marathon! If one of us signs up for the dining plan, do we both have to sign up? If so, why?

It's great to see you here today at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Jessica!

I think that a runDisney event really is the perfect excuse to plan a vacation to Walt Disney World Resort. I'm not a runner myself but I definitely admire your willingness to take on 48.6 miles in four days! Fueling your body is such an important part of making sure you're prepared for the Dopey Challenge so let's chat about the Disney Dining Plan and what your options are for your upcoming trip this January.

If you and your friend are sharing a room at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and you want to add the Dining Plan to your vacation package, both of you will need to participate. Since credits can be shared between anyone staying in the same Walt Disney World Resort Hotel room, everyone who is on the reservation needs to be on the same Dining Plan if they intend to use one. This is a great chance for you to use those credits to treat yourselves to some incredible meals, like dinner at 'Ohana or a celebratory meal at a signature restaurant at Disney Springs! Your Resort Hotel has one of my favorite dining locations, Capt. Cook's, and it's a great place to use one of those Snack or Quick-Service credits to get something quick to eat on race day.

I hope this answers your questions, Jessica, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation!

In fact, we even opted out of a tropical honeymoon to spend a blissful week at Walt Disney World Resort instead! I'm thrilled to be on the planDisney Panel and I'm excited to share everything I've learned from all of our trips and help you plan a memorable family vacation.  Learn More About Jessica
