Hi there, Genna! Welcome to planDisney! Early September at the Disneyland Resort is such a special time to visit! The summer crowds have passed through, the Mickey-shaped pumpkins have arrived as have the grim grinning ghosts of the Halloween season! September 2nd kicks off
Halloween Time so you will be able to take a spin through Jack Skellington's takeover of
Haunted Mansion Holiday, see the Haul-O-Ween festivities over at
Cars Land, and watch the
Halloween Screams fireworks light up the night above Sleeping Beauty Castle!
I'm sure you are eager to get all of your Disneyland ducks in a row so you can start daydreaming of your park days ahead. It sounds like you are the lucky participants of a
Disneyland Resort VIP Tour! A truly magical way to experience both
Disneyland Park and
Disney California Adventure Park! You are correct that you will need
Park Hopper tickets to be able to enter both parks while on your tour. This way, you'll be able to wander between the two to your heart's content! It will basically be like having your very own Genie or Fairy Godmother along for the ride of your Disneyland day - MAGICAL!
While your wishes will come true all day long, let's talk about those evenings and the Nighttime Spectaculars! You are just about at your 60-day mark when
dining reservations will start to open up for your trip, which means you could also book some special packages that include preferred viewing for those nighttime shows. I highly recommend the
World of Color Dessert Party, if that's on your list of must-sees! It's one of the only experiences where you get to enjoy your dessert and cocktails while watching the show. You'll enter about an hour ahead of time, choose your beverage (the sprinkle-rimmed cocktails are a must!), and get a plate filled to the brim with sweet and savory treats ... all rainbow-themed to coordinate with the show! Then let that Disney storytelling, magic, and music fill the night sky! My fellow panelist
Carrie and I got to see it together for a fun Moms-night-out! You'll be asked at check-in if you prefer a front row, low-top table or a back row, high-top table ... definitely go with the high-top! There will be some Guests seated in front of the dessert party location, so this ensures you will have a great, elevated view of the show!
Genna, so much magic awaits! Be sure to take it all in and take a little time to stop and smell the churros, as we like to say. A Disney day can fly by before you know it. I find that some of these intentional, slower moments are my favorites. If you have any more questions about your planning, you know where to find us at

Keep wishing on those stars!
Tara
