Ahoy, Kelly!
Welcome back to planDisney! Sailing with friends is one of my favorite ways to enjoy a Disney cruise. There’s just something fun about planning your days together, exploring while on a Port Adventure, and maybe even coordinating outfits for Pirate Night like a crew straight out of Pirates of the Caribbean, minus the mutiny of course.
To link your reservations together, you can use the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app or the website. If you use the Navigator app, once you click the “Add Reservation” button, be sure to also click on the “Important Details” link at the bottom because this covers those finer details that you are asking about. By linking your reservations, you will be able to view payment information, planned activities, names, and stateroom numbers.
I know that payment information detail can sound a little like opening Davy Jones’ Locker, but here’s the reassuring news. My crew and I sailed with some of our friends and we could not see their credit card or passport information. Those important details stay locked up tight. If you or your friend booked your sailing using a travel agent, the payment information that you both see will just let you know to contact your travel professional. If a travel agent wasn’t used, you may be able to see the balance remaining for the cruise, if the final payment date hasn’t passed yet, and other general payment details.
Once we were on the ship, we could not see the purchases made by our friends and all charges went to our
individual stateroom onboard folios and credit cards. It’s not always guaranteed, but we were automatically seated together for dinner, which made those evenings feel like our own royal banquet in Arendelle. Ensuring you both have the same dining time selected gives you a good chance that you will be seated together, but if that doesn’t work out, you can visit the Onboard Dining Session on embarkation day to talk directly with the Dining Team and request to be seated together.
One last thing to keep in mind if you decide to link your staterooms is your
activities booking windows and Online Check-In windows will still depend on your current Castaway Club status. Since we were Platinum and our friends were Silver, we could book our own activities once the Platinum window opened, but we could not book activities for them until their window opened up. It’s a little like waiting your turn in line for your favorite attraction, everyone gets their moment, just at slightly different times.
I hope this helps you feel comfortable linking your reservations and
planning all the fun ahead. Sailing with friends adds a whole new layer of laughter, shared memories, and maybe even a few friendly debates about which dessert is best on Pirate Night.
Sea ya real soon as springtime magic carries us from one adventure to the next,
Dustin
