My friend and her kid backed out of our vacation last minute, my parents are looking at adding on to our vacation package and going with us. How do we do that?

    Hi Janie,

Welcome to planDisney! I am delighted to see you popping in with a question!

First, let me say that I am sorry your friend and her child had to back out of the trip. I can imagine that you all were looking forward to it. I also have friends who would love to join us right now on a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort, but they are unsure about traveling.

The good news is that you have some time, and it sounds as if your parents might be some happy late additions to the trip. I chatted with a Cast Member to confirm - you would need to contact a Cast Member to change the Guests on a vacation package reservation.

Once you get that vacation package modified, be sure to make Disney Park Pass system reservations for everyone. Park pass reservation availability could change at any moment, so keep an eye on the theme park reservation availability calendar. Looking at your trip dates, I also suggest that you start getting ready to make advanced dining reservations. The current dining reservation window is 60-days prior to arrival.

Janie, when we took our girls on their first trip to the Walt Disney World Resort, my parents went with us. They helped pay for some of the cost, so we stayed at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort in a 2 Bedroom Villa. It was such a lovely resort with great dining options. We had so much fun on that trip and left happily exhausted!

Wishing you the best as you plan!

    Magic and memories,
