My friend has her first trip to Disney World with me and she wants to ride the monorail, but we're staying Pop Century. Would we be able to take a bus to Disney Springs, bus to Contemporary, and ride the resort monorail to TTC and Magic Kingdom?

Hey there, Calyssa, and thanks for POP-ping by planDisney!

Ever since I was a little girl, the monorail has held a special place in my heart. Even now, in the age of the (absolutely incredible!) Disney Skyliner, there's something about the monorail that still feels like "home." Suffice to say, I am thrilled to hear your friend feels so drawn to my favorite mode of Disney transportation!

Calyssa, I have a hunch you've heard about the recent transportation changes at Walt Disney World. However, the good news is that so far, this policy only applies to transportation from Disney Springs. This means you'll have no problem riding the monorail, no matter where you're staying.

However, your plan for accessing the monorail is a little more complicated than necessary. So let's take a minute to simplify your route and save you some precious time! Instead of taking the bus to Disney Springs, hop on a bus from Disney's Pop Century Resort and head straight to Magic Kingdom. From here, you can board the monorail for a magically scenic ride!

While you are welcome to ride the monorail around the resort loop, I suggest planning a park-hopping day where you begin in Magic Kingdom and then take the monorail to EPCOT for the second part of your day. Personally, this is my favorite option since ending at EPCOT means you can take the Skyliner back to your resort when you're ready to turn in. Of course, this would require Park Hopper tickets, so be sure to consider that before you arrive in Disney World.

One final tip? Remember that you can use your My Disney Experience app to mobile order food from Everything POP Shopping & Dining at your resort. This is a really convenient feature my family can't live without! To see exactly how to place a mobile order, be sure to check out the attached video.

I hope this helps, Calyssa! I'm wishing you and your friend a practically perfect visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth. If you have any other planning questions, feel free to reach out to me directly. I'm always happy to help!

    Magical travels,

    Allison
