I have a friend going to DW, her son has Diabetes they are constantly monitoring with diet&exercise. If he is having a bad day - Is there anything they can do about still enjoying the rides without long lines&is there anyone they can call @ his mea

Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel with your question, Jeanne!

First off, make sure to tell your friend that she should let every server aware of her son's medical condition at each table service restaurant.  She can even ask to speak with the Chef any time she'd like to do so. She should also make sure her son's condition is also notated (for every reservation)  on her Advance Dining Reservations.   Have her phone The Special Diets Department at (407) 824-5967.  She can call that number in advance of her trip, and while she's at Walt Disney World.

Your friend should also visit Guest Relations near the entrances of the theme parks.  She will only need to do this once, at whichever park she visits first.  Guide Maps or Cast Members can direct her there.  Walt Disney World does a fabulous job of assisting guests with special needs.  She can explain to a Cast Member the specific needs of her son, and they will help make suggestions as to the best way to assist them.

I wish your friend and her family a most MAGICAL vacation!
