Hiya, Michael!
Welcome to planDisney. Michael, how exciting that your friend is offering to share the magic with you. You must be his favorite deputy! Sharing the magic can be inspirational! When my parents shared their
Disney Vacation Club Points with us for our honeymoon, we became Members ourselves.
Michael, yes your friend can gift you his
Disney Vacation Club Points! What he would need to do is go into his DVC account and make the booking by selecting the dates and Disney Vacation Club Resort and room, just like he would for his own stay. Then, when it gets to the point of "Guest Information," he would put your information into the booking. Once it is booked and a reservation number is generated, he can share that with you so you can link the reservation to your My Disney Experience account.
From here, the reservation is entirely yours. The
DVC Points will cover the cost of your stay, and then you would add your payment information for any additional costs and incidentals.
If he has any questions or problems making the reservation, he can call Member Services. I should add that only the Member can contact
Member Services, so if any changes need to be made to the reservation itself, your friend would have to do that. But everything else once it is booked will become your reservation.
I hope this helps you, Michael! If you have any further Disney Vacation Club questions, stop back and see me because you've got a friend in me!
See ya real soon!
Keri
