    My friend and I both have DVC but nit enough point to both book trips. I will not be able to make it to Disney before my points expire. Can I transfer the points to my friend so they will now have enough to be able to book a trip?

    Thanks for asking a great Disney Vacation Club question today. One of the best things about a Disney Vacation Club Membership is flexibility; Members can choose to bank or borrow Vacation Points, convert Vacation Points into Reservation Points and use them in an exchange and they can also transfer Vacation Points so the perfect vacation can happen!

    I have great news for you and your friend, yes, you can transfer Vacation Points to another Member. In fact, that’s a great way to ensure Points that are expiring and no longer bankable can be used. There are a few important things to note: 

    • Transferring Vacation Points is a final transaction. 
    • Members can complete one transfer per Membership per Use Year either receiving the Vacation Points or transferring Vacation Points. 
    • Any Transferred Vacation Points keep the same Use Year and Home Resort 
    • Members can bank Transferred Vacation Points but banked or borrowed Vacation Points may not be transferred. 
    • Holding Account Vacation Points can be transferred but will stay in the Holding Account in the new Membership. 

    • Reservation Points are unable to be transferred. 
    When you are ready to transfer Vacation Points, please call Member Services. I transferred Points to a friend for an upcoming stay and we both had to be on the call with Member Services in order to complete the transfer. Member Services is available Monday - Friday (9:00 AM - 9:00 PM) and Saturday - Sunday (9:00 AM - 7:00 PM).
