My friend didn’t have my Disney account information when she booked the resort so she just put my name on reservation. How do I replace that name with my actual account so she has me correctly linked to the reservation and my disney experience?

Hey there, hi there, ho there, Amber!

Thanks so much for stopping by with your Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question. You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney! It sounds like your club of Mouseketeers is heading to The Most Magical Place on Earth. Oh boy! Amber, I'm happy to help you connect with your travel party in My Disney Experience so that you can begin the planning process with your friends.

First, if your friend hasn't linked the Disney Resort hotel reservation yet, I encourage you and your friend to connect in My Disney Experience via your Family & Friends Lists. To do this, log into your Disney account and hover over the "My Disney Experience" tab on the Walt Disney World Resort website and select "My Family & Friends." Next, scroll down to the bottom and select "Add a Guest." Since you'll be a Guest on your friend's existing Disney Resort hotel reservation, the easiest way to connect will be by clicking "Import from a Walt Disney World Resort hotel reservation." Here, you'll enter the Resort hotel reservation confirmation number and your friend's last name (or the primary Guest on the reservation). Select "Locate Reservation." You should see the Resort hotel reservation pop up, and you may be asked to "match a Guest" if the name tied to your Disney account is not identical to that on the reservation.

Amber, if the Resort hotel reservation has not been linked to your friend's account yet, or if connecting via your Resort hotel reservation doesn't work, then I recommend trying to connect again by selecting "I'll enter their name and age." Here, enter your friend's (the Resort hotel reservation holder) details and the email address associated with their Disney account and click "Done." An email will be sent to your friend's email address inviting them to connect via My Disney Experience. Once your friend accepts this invitation, you'll be connected via your Family & Friends Lists. Then, when your friend links the Resort hotel reservation to her account, she'll be asked to match your Disney account to the name she entered on the reservation.

I'm hopeful that this information helps you to connect with your friend in My Disney Experience. Once linked, you'll be able to make and include one another in plans like dining reservations and Lightning Lane entry selections! If you encounter any difficulties during this process, you may reach out to the friendly Cast Members at the My Disney Experience, MagicBand and MagicBand+ phone line for additional assistance. Amber, I'm wishing you and your travel party a magical and memorable visit to the Walt Disney World Resort! If you have any additional planning questions, please stop back by planDisney again anytime - we're all ears!

    See ya real soon,

    Lauren
