My friend, daughter and I were really wanting to visit magic kingdom on either June 7th or June 8th but there are no more park reservations for either of those days. I thought I read somewhere where you could buy the park hopper option, and go there.?

Hi there! Welcome to planDisney, Melissa!

Oh boy, Melissa, I’m so sorry to hear that you’re having a hard time securing a Park Pass Reservation for Magic Kingdom Park during your visit to Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Such a bummer, but all is not lost! So, let’s talk about tickets, shall we?

Melissa, I am so glad you reached out to talk about this! As you mentioned in your question, a Park Pass Reservation is required to enter the first park you plan to visit each day. Unfortunately, at this time, it looks as though Magic Kingdom Park is not available for the dates you’ll be visiting. So, your best bet would be to add the Park Hopper Option to your ticket, which will allow you to hop over to any other theme park, like Magic Kingdom Park, after 2 p.m. each afternoon. In this case, you would make a Park Pass Reservation at an available park, enjoy the first part of your day there, and then head over to Magic Kingdom Park later in the afternoon once park hopping is open.

To add the Park Hopper Option to your ticket, start by logging into your My Disney Experience app. Then, click on the three stacked lines in the bottom right corner to open the menu and select “Tickets and Passes.” From there, look to see if you have the “Change Ticket” option. If so, click on that and follow the prompts to add the Park Hopper Option to your tickets.

If you don’t see the “Change Ticket” button, worry not! You can upgrade your ticket by calling the Existing Tickets team at 407 934-7639 or by visiting the ticket booth outside of each theme park.

I do want to note that park hopping is subject to availability, so there IS a chance that the park will be at capacity and will no longer be accepting park hoppers. To check this before heading over, you can give this nifty hotline a call (407) 560-5000 and find out the availability status of the theme parks. If any parks are at capacity with no park hopper access, there will be a recorded message on that line.

I hope I have been able to help you today! There are still a couple of weeks before you head out on your vacation, so please feel free to stop by again with any other planning questions you may have!

    See you real soon!
