A friend is coming in October for 7 days(wed-wed). They are arriving in the afternoon. They are buying park hopper plus water park tickets. Question is do they need to purchase 7 or 6 day tickets? They will go to pool only on the 1st day no parks.

    Hey there, Kerrie!

Thanks so much for popping in to see us here at planDisney! It's sounds like you're helping a friend plan for a Walt Disney World Resort vacation, and that makes me think that "You've got a friend in me" is certainly true in your case. I think friends who help their friends make plans for magical Disney vacations are simply the best kind of friends!

If your friend is trying to decide how many days they'll want for Walt Disney World Resort theme park tickets, let me share some info about the Park Hopper Plus Option that I hope can be helpful.

With the Park Hopper Plus Option, they would get admission to more than one theme park per day, plus they would get a set number of visits to other experiences based on the number of days on the ticket. In your example, a 7-Day Ticket with Park Hopper Plus Option would give them theme park admission on any 7 days plus 7 visits to a water park like Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park or another fun adventure like Disney's Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course or FootGolf at Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course. (Keep in mind that some of the offerings that would typically be a Park Hopper Plus Option, like NBA Experience, are currently unavailable.)

The tickets would be valid for a specific number of days based on the start date of their visit. For example, a 7-day ticket would expire 10 days after the start date. This would give them some flexibility to break up their stay by taking a relaxing Resort day between theme park visits.

You mention that your friend is only planning on visiting the water park on the first day of their visit. My best suggestion is for your friend to look at the pricing for theme park tickets with the Park Hopper Plus Option, and compare that to purchasing tickets with the Park Hopper Option and then purchasing separate tickets for one water park day. For additional help and information, they can reach out to Walt Disney World Resort Tickets Team at (407) 939-7679.

Also, be sure to remind your friend to make theme park reservations using the Disney Park Pass system as soon as they have purchased their theme park tickets and linked them to their my Disney Experience account.

Kerrie, I hope this info is helpful for you and your friend. If they have additional questions as they are making their plans, just encourage them to ask us here at planDisney. We're here for you, and for them, and happy to help!

Meet the Panelist: Jerry, Pennsylvania

The playful and creative optimism of all things Disney has enthralled me since I was a kid. I loved watching "The Wonderful World of Disney" on Sunday nights, seeing all the live-action and animated classics in theaters, and — of course — visiting "The Most Magical Place on Earth" for the first time 45 years ago. These days, the big kid in me still loves to play Disney. As a long-time Disney destinations vacationer, I'm looking forward to helping you play Disney starting here at planDisney!
