Hey Howdy Hey Siobhan, welcome to planDisney! Thank you for stopping by with your excellent question. I'm thrilled to assist you! Linking tickets must mean you're gearing up for a trip to
Walt Disney World! You are sure to make awesome memories at The Most Magical Place on Earth!
I would suggest that your friend create her own My Disney Experience account, if she hasn't already, then adding her to your
Friends & Family list. I would then suggest connecting your account with hers on her own device. That way you will still be able to access all your plans, from your own account but still be able to share plans and tickets.
Just an FYI Siobhan, Beginning July 24th, Disney Genie+ service will become
Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Individual Lightning Lane will now be known as Lightning Lane Single Pass. When you purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you may make up to 3 Lightning Lane selections in a theme park, in advance of your visit. You’ll also be able to choose available times as you make your selections. You'll also be able to make more Lightning Lane selections as you use them. On the day of your visit, once you use a selection, check the My Disney Experience app for availability to make an additional selection. Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel and other select hotels will be able to plan Lightning Lane passes up to 7 days in advance, for their entire stay (up to 14 days). All other guests can plan up to 3 days in advance.
Lightning Lane Single Pass will allow advance bookings. Lightning Lane Single Pass is a pay per ride service and will work much like it does today, where you can secure a time to ride one of our most highly demanded attractions, but you’ll now be able to make your purchase and plan in advance.
As stated, once you link with your friend on the
My Disney Experience app, you will be able to access all your plans, including Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass. I find the easiest way to connect to the accounts of friends and family members is by using your Linking Code. To find your Linking Code, tap on the 3 horizontal lines on the bottom right of the My Disney Experience app. Scroll to the bottom of the screen then under Disney Account, tap “Profile.” Next, tap “Show My Linking Code.” The app will then prompt you with a warning explaining what the linking code is. Once someone scans your Linking Code, you’ll be added to their Friends & Family list. Next tap “Show My Linking Code.” The app will then create a unique linking code. There’s a QR version as well as a manual code that your friends and family can type in.
If your friend wants to scan a linking code to connect to you (or you want to scan their linking code) - tap on the three horizontal lines to the bottom right of the My Disney Experience app. Select “Profile” and then “Friends & Family List.” You’ll then scroll down to where it says “Add a Guest.” Follow the prompts to Scan their Linking Code. You’ll scan their linking code when they have it up on their phone, or you can manually enter the code. That's it!
I hope you find this information helpful as you prepare for your visit to Walt Disney World. Thank you again for visiting planDisney! We'll see ya real soon!
