Ashley from CA Asked Note: This answer was provided prior to the change to planDisney and may still contain references to Disney Parks Moms Panel.

My friend has an annual pass and is going to get me the 99$ friend ticket at the gate. Will I need to bring my driver's license to purchase the ticket? Would the answer change if I pay in cash vs. by card?

Hiya, Ashley, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I love helping my fellow Californians maximize their visits to the Happiest Place on Earth!

This Annual Passholder ticket promotion is a great way to enjoy both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park at a discounted rate this summer! I’m so excited that you’re going to have the chance to take advantage of it! You can purchase your ticket at any Main Entrance Ticket Booth, alongside your Annual Passholder friend. If you decide to pay for your ticket with a credit card, then you will be required to show your driver’s license to complete the purchase. If you pay in cash, you shouldn’t be required to show your driver’s license. You will just be asked for your name for the ticket. Also, the Annual Passholder you’re visiting the parks with must accompany you on your first entry into either theme park on the day of purchase. You’ll have your picture taken, so that it can be associated with your ticket. Then, you’re off to enjoy the magic of the Disneyland Resort!

My family took advantage of this special Annual Passholder promotion last week, and we loved seeing the sights and sounds of summer in the Disneyland Resort. There’s so much to see and do as summer winds down. Here’s the Entertainment Schedule for your arrival date, so you can start mapping out the magic!

You won’t want to miss two of my favorite limited-time experiences, including Tale of the Lion King in Disney California Adventure Park, and the Main Street Electrical Parade in Disneyland Park. I recommend watching Tale of the Lion King toward the late afternoon for a more comfortable viewing climate. Also, for the Main Street Electrical Parade, I recommend waiting for the second Parade of the evening, since it tends to be easier to find a good spot to watch it from.

Wishing you a magical summer day at the Disneyland Resort!

My family of five can’t get enough of the magic and happiness we encounter every time we step foot on Main Street, U.S.A.
