Welcome to the Moms Panel, Shelly!
I'm happy to hEAR you are planning to attend
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party! It's my FAVORITE special event at Walt Disney World Resort. The holiday party can be best described as the festive Christmas season getting gift wrapped in Disney magic!
Special ticketed events at Magic Kingdom Park require the purchase of Party Tickets - which are separate from regular admission. For instance, if you enter Magic Kingdom Park in the morning then you will need to use Theme Park Tickets. If you wish to stay for the party afterward, which officially begins at 7:00 p.m., you will have to purchase Party Tickets to remain inside the park. In other words, you would need two types of tickets: regular admission to the park and tickets for the party too.
When Magic Kingdom Park hosts Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, the park closes to regular-ticket holders at 6:00 p.m. At some point, Cast Members start to check if Guests walking around the park are wearing the exclusive wristbands for the special event. If not, then they are graciously escorted to the park's exit, or given the option to purchase tickets for the party.
Shelly, you can certainly attend Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party by purchasing only Party Tickets. In fact, when my family and I go to this event, we typically spend the day relaxing at our beautiful Disney Resort hotel. We don't generally visit any of the Disney Theme Parks during the day. That way, we can apply those extra theme park admission entitlements to another day at the parks.
Wishing you an unforgettable
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom Park.
