Hiya Lorraine! Welcome to planDisney!
I can feel your excitement from here! I'm sure Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and all their pals can't wait to welcome you to The Happiest Place on Earth. I'd be happy to help sort out some of the details with you today, so you can be on your way to enjoying a magical vacation!
Lorraine, a
Park Hopper ticket allows you to switch between
Disneyland Park and
Disney California Adventure Park on the same day. However, there are a few nuances you should be aware of. First, you will need a
theme park reservation, but only for the park you plan to start in that day. Second, there are park hopping hours. After 1:00 p.m., you will be able to park hop, meaning you can't switch to your second park until that time. After 1:00 p.m., you can hop back and forth as many times as you'd like.
When I park hop, I prefer to spend a good half of the day in my starting park before hopping over to the other. I tend to plan my starting park around my highest priority attraction so that I have time to check that off my list before hopping over to the other park later in the day. While switching back and forth between the parks is fairly simple since the entrances are close to one another, I prefer to accomplish all my must-do attractions in my starting park before switching. However, I have many friends and fellow panelists who prefer to switch back and forth multiple times per day, even pausing for some time in the
Downtown Disney District in between!
I hope this helps answer your question today, Lorraine! Enjoy your trip to The Happiest Place on Earth!
May all your dreams come true,
Ashley
