Hiya, Emily, and welcome to planDisney! One of my favorite parts of planning a
Walt Disney World Resort vacation is dining. For questions about food, I'm glad you have come to planDisney.
My friend and neighbor
Jennifer has shared her mounds of knowledge on
macaroni and cheese and another friend,
Brent, has the scoop on
soup. For French Onion Soup specifically, you are asking about my favorite of all the brothy concoctions. I asked a Cast Member if the one you've had at
Chefs de France can be found elsewhere at the parks or resorts. There was no information on whether this was a restaurant-specific recipe, so we started reminiscing over wonderful French Onion soups we have enjoyed.
You can put their magic to the test at
Be Our Guest in
Magic Kindom Park. The grey stuff is delicious, and their French Onion Soup is too. Like the soup at Chefs de France, it is au gratin with Gruyère. Leaving France-inspired restaurants for some 1970s Florida flair, you can find a very tasty French Onion Soup at
Steakhouse 71 in
Disney's Contemporary Resort. This recipe is topped with a crouton and Gratinée cheese. Who knows, you may find your second favorite recipe.
If you are willing to venture a little further, my absolute favorite version of all is aboard
Disney Cruise Line in the
Royal Court on the
Disney Fantasy and
Royal Palace on the
Disney Dream. I don't know if it is the soup or the ship that makes it so divine. I may need to go back just to see.
Thank you again for stopping by with this question. I have a new taste test challenge for my next trip.
Please come back to
planDisney with any other questions. We're here for you!
À ta santé!
