Ahoy there, Candi! I’m so glad you sailed by planDisney with your question about the WiFi - it’s a good one and I’m happy to help clear up any confusion.
Yes, it is free to use the WiFi for both the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app and iMessage on an iPhone. You can even use WhatsApp onboard as well. Make sure to download the DCL Navigator app before your trip (you’ll want to keep an eye on that cute cruise countdown clock too!) and then once you’re on the ship, connect to the DCL-Guest WiFi and you’re ready to set sail! Should you wish to have more connectivity options, like using social media or streaming while on board, you'll also find a variety of
Internet Packages available for purchase.
Within the chat feature of the app, each Guest is assigned a Chat ID. You’ll use this to message people in your stateroom, as well as any new friends you make. I especially love jazzing up my messages with all the cute Disney emoticons. I feel like Tony Stark when using the DCL Navigator app because it truly puts all the power in the palm of my hand. I can make reservations, check out activity schedules, and even look at the
professional photos we took on board. It’s a must-do for any cruiser.
I also noticed you live in Florida. Did you know you can save money on certain sailings just by being a
Florida Resident? And only one adult in each stateroom needs to meet the residency requirements. Having lived in South Florida for years, this is what helped fuel my Disney Cruise obsession while staying on a budget (not to mention we have two Florida ports to choose from!). I bookmark the “
Special Offers” tab on my browser so I can check back frequently to see what discounts are available (even non-residents can also find discounts on certain sailings, especially if a member of the
US Military).
Candi, I hope this information helps get you excited for your next cruise, and perhaps even planning another cruise after that! Should any more questions pop up, please don’t hesitate to sail back to us here at
planDisney.
Embrace the magic,
Sami
