Hiya Robert - welcome back to
planDisney!
Thanks for stopping by with another question as you continue planning amazing Disney vacations! Here at planDisney we definitely love to PLAN, and maps are always a great tool to get a better idea of where you'll want to go and how to get there. There's so much to experience, especially during the
Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration, and even for someone like me who has visited hundreds of times, a great map is a must!
Walt Disney World Resort is not currently sending out printed maps in the mail, but don't fret! That's actually great news because the fantastic digital resources available have everything you'll need and more, including magical details that aren't possible on physical maps!
You have two great options for exploring the Walt Disney World Resort maps - either
online or via the
My Disney Experience Mobile App (tap on the second icon from the left on the bottom - it looks like a little map pin!). From there you can zoom in or out, plot out the paths between your favorite must-do attractions, or just explore everything new at the tip of your finger!
There are always new and exciting attractions, experiences, dining options, and more, and these digital maps are constantly updated to provide you with the most up-to-date information. For instance, did you know that there is a brand new complimentary transportation option - the
Disney Skyliner? It's hard to miss on the maps because this new gondola system looks like a huge ride itself, connecting
EPCOT,
Disney's Hollywood Studios, and various
Disney Resorts Collection hotels. I love it so much that I often float through the sky without any particular destination in mind!
Once you're in the parks, physical map brochures are still available at a variety of locations if you've grown weary of looking at your phone screen. If you need one, just ask a Cast Member and they'll point you in the right direction. Remember, those paper maps aren't going to map walking directions for you or give you wait times for attractions, so I always recommend getting familiar with the in-app maps before your trip. That way, you can explore all that they have to offer and will be ready to use them once you arrive. Like me, you might ultimately find that you don't miss the paper versions one bit!
I hope this helps you map out your trip - please
let me know if there are any other questions I might be able to assist with!
