How is the free ice water at QS working during Covid times? Do we need to mobile order it? We're going in the summer and I'm wondering if we'll need to bring in lots of bottles of water or if the free water is still easily obtained.

Hey there, Melissa. I'm glad you've stopped by planDisney to ask your question.

With your vacation being in July, you will want to make sure you are staying very hydrated. One of my favorite money-saving tips is being able to grab a free ice water at any quick service location throughout the Walt Disney World Theme Parks, Disney Springs and at the Disney Resorts Collection Hotels. I've been visiting Walt Disney World about once a month since the reopening last summer and I haven't had any issues grabbing an ice water. What I've been doing is grabbing them from snack kiosks throughout the park, instead of popping in like Pecos Bills, so I haven't had to mobile order any waters. Any snack kiosks that serve fountain beverages will be able to give you a complimentary ice water. Now, if you are mobile ordering food somewhere you can always include an ice water at no additional charge to you with your meal. Another spot that I really like to grab water from is the Starbucks locations at each of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. Currently, they are not using the mobile order feature and you can get a large water without any fuss. The lines do tend to be a bit longer at these locations but it's worth the wait because I love the bigger cups.

If you do decide to bring a cooler with you to the Walt Disney World Theme Parks, per the park rules it must be no larger than 24"long x 15" wide x 18" high. When you are packing it, keep in mind that glass containers and outside alcohol are currently prohibited. Also, to keep your water cold I suggest packing a reusable gel ice pack as loose ice and dry ice are no longer permitted inside of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks.

Melissa, I think you will be pleasantly surprised by how easy it is to grab a free cup of ice water at most places during your Walt Disney World vacation. I certainly would not worry about packing a heavy cooler bag and lugging it around with you during your vacation. If you have any other questions before you go, feel free to come back and ask me. I'm here to help.

    Have fun!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
