Hi! Going in 9/12 w/ free dining w/ twin 5 year olds! Can we split counter service meals in order to save table service credits to use at California Grille for a parents night out? Trying to stay on budget and still eat great!

    Hi Jodie,

The Disney Dining Plan allows you to have one Table Service meal, one Quick Service meal, and one snack every night plus a refillable resort mug.  The California Grill at the Contemporary Resort is a Table Service meal that requires two Disney Dining Plan credits per person.  You have two adults and two children coming and since your children age between the ages of three and nine, they will be required to eat off of the children's menu.  The children's portions are made just for them so they will probably eat their entire meal and I would not split a meal for them.  In order for you to eat at the California Grill, you will need to not have a Table Service meal for one night or pay cash for one of the adults.  A great restaurant that I love is Le Cellier Steakhouse at Epcot in the Canada Pavilion.  This restaurant for lunch only is one Table Service credit.  You cannot use Quick Service meal credits for Table Service meal credits.  Send me a follow up question if I can help you again, Jodie.  I hope you have a magical vacation!
