Hi all! How does the free dining plan promotion work if we have already booked the mid-range DDP? And, can the dining credits be shared among family members on different DDP levels? Ex. My parents on the Deluxe plan and me on mid-range DDP?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Doreen!

It's no secret around here that I love the Disney Dining Plan, but I definitely love it even more when I can get it for free. Disney has recently announced a great discount where guests can book a vacation package that includes a free Disney Dining Plan with the purchase of theme park tickets and Walt Disney World Resort Hotel reservation. This offer is valid until September 29, 2019, and includes select arrival dates in September, November, and December of this year. If a similar offer becomes available for your vacation in the fall of 2020 and you've already booked the Disney Dining Plan for your vacation package, you can call Disney Resort Hotel Reservations to see if you are eligible for the offer, or if it's possible to make a few changes to your plans so that you're able to take advantage of it. If you're staying at a Resort Hotel that offers the free Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan during the promotion, you would only need to pay the difference between it and the Disney Dining Plan that you have if you wanted to upgrade.

When it comes to sharing credits on the Disney Dining Plan, everyone who is staying in the same Resort Hotel room draws from the same pool of credits and can use them between each other however they want, but you would not have access to your parents' Disney Deluxe Dining Plan credits. There are times that everyone can benefit from someone in the party being on that Deluxe Dining Plan, like when you're all dining at Table-Service restaurants together! On the Deluxe Dining Plan, your parents each get an appetizer with their meal on top of the entrée and dessert that you also get, and two appetizers are often enough for the whole table to share. Splitting appetizers and other dishes at Table-Service restaurants is often perfectly fine, so it's a great way to try to get the most out of your Dining Plan credits!

    Have a magical day, Doreen!
