Welcome to planDisney, Loretta,
I too have a vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort planned during the
Holidays. It may not be exactly the same as in previous years, but I’m still looking forward to the beautiful decorations, seasonal foods, and more
Holiday magic.
At each step through the progression of the
Walt Disney World Resort’s phased reopening, Cast Members are striving to provide a magical vacation experience while adhering to best practices for the health and safety of both Guests and Cast Members. The ripple effect of allowing for proper social distancing and reduced capacity at the theme parks and resort hotels has led to a number of modifications to aspects of a typical Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Included in these changes was the
temporary suspension of Disney dining plans. Guests who had
a dining plan already added as part of their vacation package will have the price of the package reduced to reflect the removal of the plan. At this time, there has not been an announcement of when we can expect to see dining plans as an available option to include with Resort packages.
As public health conditions improve and local, state, and national guidelines are updated, I look forward to seeing aspects of the Walt Disney World Resort experience returning to the way we have been used to. I’m also grateful for the thoughtful and deliberate way Disney has been handling things in these “unprecedented times.” Sure, not every aspect of our Walt Disney World Resort Vacation will be quite the same as originally envisioned. But I’m confident we’ll be making special memories to last a lifetime as we visit The Most Magical Place on Earth!
Tony’s Tip: The Holidays are fast approaching! As your Walt Disney World Resort vacation nears, be sure to set a reminder to book your preferred dining reservations starting 60 days prior to your arrival. My family has a special date to dine with Minnie and her friends at
Hollywood & Vine. We look forward to Minnie’s seasonal dining experience. Seeing some of our favorite Disney characters dressed in their festive attire will be a special treat during the experience!
