Ahoy Amanda!
I was so excited to see more wonderful questions from you! Just reading your question has me thinking about stepping into the Lobby Atrium and smelling gingerbread! From your matching family shirts to your decorated stateroom door, your
Very Merrytime Cruise is going to be the most festive voyage on the high seas! I look forward to decorating our stateroom doors each Disney Cruise. Not only is it fun to personalize our own door, but it's also fun walking through the corridors and seeing all the other decorated doors as well! It's just one more way to turn your Disney Cruise into your home away from home.
As always, you asked some excellent questions! I spoke with multiple helpful people from Disney Cruise Line and have great news for you! The door frames are magnetic, so you may put Mickey head-shaped paper Christmas lights around your door! So long as only magnets are used, you will be good to go;
no tape, glue or adhesive materials are allowed. It is my understanding that the dimensions of the non-wheelchair-accessible doors are around 28.75" x 77.75". The opening of the door is 23" but I believe when you include the door frame on either side, it's closer to 28.75" across. Plan for the door frame to be a little more than 2" wide when making your magnetic decorations.
Amanda, I hope the dimensions I'm giving you are spot-on! I wish I was currently onboard a Disney Cruise ship to take measurements myself, but I think if you use the above measurements as a guide, your paper Christmas lights will look fantastic around your door.
