Hi there, Kevin!
How wonderful that your family will soon be setting sail with
Disney Cruise Line! My husband recently joined me aboard the
Disney Wish for his first Disney cruise, and he can’t stop telling everyone we know that they need to immediately book a Disney cruise of their own. He was absolutely amazed by the magic of Castaway Cay!
Since there’s so much to love about Disney Cruise Line, I’m so sorry to hear that you’ve had a scheduling conflict arise, Kevin. While I wish it were possible for you to simply forego the first day of your cruise and embark at a later port, for health and safety reasons all Guests who plan to sail must
board the ship at the designated port of embarkation.
I’m sure this is not what you were hoping to hear, Kevin, but don’t lose heart! Even if you’re unable to modify your work schedule, you can still enjoy a magical vacation with your family by changing the date of your cruise. You can conveniently modify your reservation online or
by phone. To complete the process online, you’ll simply log in to your MyDisney Account on the Disney Cruise Line website and navigate to the ‘
Already Booked’ tab. You’ll then select ‘My Reservations’ followed by ‘Modify Reservation’. Not only can you change the date of your selected sailing, but you’ll also have the option to modify your travel party and stateroom.
If you do wind up rescheduling your cruise, I encourage you to stay aboard the Wish if possible. Donald’s Cantina was my go-to for lunch each day, and my husband spent most evenings at The Bayou listening to live music while sipping smoked old fashioneds and Abita Root Beer from his home state of Louisiana.
I hope this was helpful, Kevin, and that you’re not left home alone while the rest of your family is setting sail with Captain Mickey. If you’re in need of any additional assistance as you finalize your plans, feel free to stop back by. We’re always happy to help here at
planDisney!
Thinking Happy Thoughts,
Lizzie
