Four years ago we visited in Oct - crowds and weather were reasonable. I just priced out a trip for Aug 29 - Sept 5 or Oct 10-17. The price difference is huge! $2079 vs. 3304! Is it still hot-hot in early Sept? What is the crowd difference?

October has definitely become a popular month for vacations at Walt Disney World.  The Food and Wine Festival has helped that as well as many schools now have October school breaks.

It will still most likely be quite hot late August and into September but the good news is that the crowds can be much lighter at this time of year.  Disney has a wonderful Dine Free special going on for some of those dates so it might be a great time to deal with the heat and come for a great price!
