Hi I have a four year old that has spina bifida and he wears braces all day every day. He gets tired of walking after long period of time. Do you have any special offers for our stay?

    Welcome Andrea ~

As a Mom of a son with Cerebral Palsy, I know first-hand the challenges of traveling with a special needs child. While the Walt Disney World Resort doesn't have any special discounts specifically for Guests with special needs, be sure to check out their current special offers, deals, and discounts.

Here are some things I would recommend:
    • Think about bringing or renting a stroller to help him with stamina in the parks.
    • Stop by Guest Services and let them know you will be using a stroller as a wheelchair so that they can give you a red band to go on the stroller. This will indicate to Cast Members at attractions that your son is using it as a wheelchair and they will allow him to remain in it while in queues.
    • Visit Guest Relations in the first theme park you visit to inquire about obtaining a Disability Service Access Card (DAS)
    • If you need bedrails or a handicapped accessible room, make sure you request that when making your resort reservation. I always call to confirm that it is noted on my reservation.
    • Make any special dietary requests before leaving for your trip.
    • Give your son breaks. We often go back to our room during the day and take a break before heading back out for the evening.
    • Bring some of your son's favorite toys to help keep him occupied in lines.
I am limited in space but please feel free to visit again with any questions. I'm hEAR for you! Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
