Hello Angela,
Currently, the rules at the Disneyland Resort require the
use of an approved face covering for all Guests ages 2 and older. There are no exemptions offered for any reason, including medical reasons or disability reasons. Cast Members are diligent about reminding Guests to wear them, and will not allow you to enter a building without one.
I’m sorry as I’m sure that wasn’t the answer you were hoping for. Do know that face coverings are currently only required indoors, and not in outdoor areas. While this does significantly reduce the number of attraction options for you, your child could still enter the theme park and enjoy the outdoor areas and attractions such as
Dumbo the Flying Elephant, the
King Arthur Carrousel, and the
Mad Tea Party. You could dine outdoors as well, and enjoy the atmosphere of the theme parks including the
afternoon parade and
evening fireworks. If your son is willing to wear his mask for short periods of time, that might open up a few more options if you selected attractions with a short queue. I would recommend visiting during the week rather than the weekend, and avoid holidays and other popular times. For example, we were at Disneyland this past Monday night and later in the evening we only waited 5 minutes for
Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride and
Pinocchio’s Daring Journey. I hope this helps to answer your question, Angela, and helps you make the best decision for your family. If you do decide to make a visit to the Disneyland Resort, I would double-check the park rules before your visit, as rules are subject to change at any time.
Have a Magical Day!
