Can four adults and one child fit in one stateroom? I’m trying to see if I need two staterooms

    Hi Cailyn!

Thanks for sending us multiple questions about your upcoming cruise on the Disney Fantasy! There's nothing we like more than chatting about all things Disney.

First order of business: making a reservation for a stateroom category that accommodates 5 Guests. Since you mentioned before that you were doing a Star Wars Day at Sea, you'll be sailing on the Disney Fantasy. On the Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream, that would mean a Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom (Category 8) or a Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with a Verandah (Category 4). The key is that the word “Family” is in there. Fortunately, the Disney Cruise Line system will only show you staterooms that will accommodate the number of Guests in your travel party. The other way to check is by calling Disney Cruise Line.

The Deluxe Family Oceanview staterooms with Verandah are the most spacious staterooms on the ship (short of Concierge level). This size stateroom worked perfectly when my girlfriends and I cruised together. Although we had 4 adults in our stateroom, the only difference is that we passed on using the dropdown bunk bed that the stateroom host pulls down in the evenings. And traditionally, that is exactly where my kids love to sleep! The sofa converts to a bed and a trundle bed can be lowered from the wall. And voila...enough space for 5 Guests!

While you could easily make a Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom work for your crew, it might depend on how comfortable everyone is with one another and how much time you anticipate spending in your stateroom. As my kids have grown into teenagers, I’ve found the stateroom seems smaller than it really is once they take over with all their stuff! For kicks and giggles, you may want to price two staterooms because in certain circumstances, that combination could actually cost less than a single, higher category stateroom.

As you continue with your plans, cruise back over to planDisney if you think of more questions. The Fab 5 (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto) cannot wait to welcome your party of 5 onboard when you sail. Wishing you all the best on your adventures at sea!
