As they say in the wilderness, "
Howdy Vicki!" Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney, we're so happy to see you here.
It sure sounds like you're planning a magical Disney adventure for your family this coming May! I love that you've already made reservations to stay at
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. I just know you'll have an incredible time there as my family has enjoyed some zip-a-dee-doo-dah vacations staying in the rustic home-away-from-home-sweet-home
Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. And although it does go without saying that it's unlikely you'll see any giraffes wandering around
The Fort, with a keen eye, you might just get lucky and spot some indigenous wildlife in their natural environments such as wild turkeys & wild waterfowl, deer, or even an armadillo!
I think a little confusion maybe has been made between
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park and the Disney Resort Collection hotel
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, which indeed is currently closed to Guests.
However, I'm delighted to say that during your already scheduled
Disney Park Pass day at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park you should get to see giraffes, lions, tigers, and bears - oh my! which is most definitely open for Guests to enjoy as we
Return to a World of Magic at Walt Disney World Resort.
My top suggestion for truly going into the wild at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park is to be sure not to miss jumping onboard
Kilimanjaro Safaris to explore the 110 acre Harambe Wildlife Reserve. The reserve is home to a plethora of wild animals including giraffes, elephants, rhinos, cheetahs, crocodiles, hyenas, zebras, and the undisputed king of the jungle - the majestic lion.
Vicki, if you'd like any further help in planning towards your May vacation to the most magical place on earth, please do pop back to planDisney where we'd be more than happy to help!
Have a great Disney day ~ Jane
