I found out the free dining plan opened for stays in Aug to Sep 29th. It is only for DVC holders at this time but another panel told me maybe on Monday they will release it to the general public. In the past have they ever extended it to October?

Hi Shana, As a Disney Visa Cardholder, you can receive a free dining plan when you book a five night/ six day Walt Disney World room and ticket package. You can receive the Quick Service Dining Plan free when you select a Value Resort excluding Disney's Art of Animation Resort. At select Moderate Resorts, you can receive the Disney Dining Plan at no cost as well. This is for most stays from 8/25/12 to 9/27/12. Disney Vacation Club members have no such discount at this time. I have also heard that the free dining will be released to the general public soon, but I have no confirmation from Disney. As far as extending this to October, I know this has been done in past years and hope that this year will be the same! Please send me a follow up question, Shana, if I can help you further.
