Hiya, Amanda!
I am absolutely delighted to welcome you to planDisney today to discuss such a magical topic. Like you, I'm expecting my first little one, so I know just how exciting it is to be welcoming a new, tiny Mouseketeer to the family. Now, let's add a bit of pixie dust to this magical milestone!
I'm a bit of a Stitch fangirl myself (I actually have a video of me sharing my family's big news with him during a recent visit to Disneyland Paris), so I adore the idea of having everyone's favorite extraterrestrial experiment take part in your big reveal. Can you even imagine his excitement if it's a boy?!? He'd fit right in with the blue celebration!
Character appearances are always subject to change, but you'll be happy to hear that Stitch has recently been meeting Guests regularly in Magic Kingdom Park near the exit to
Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. You can conveniently see if Stitch is out and about each day by checking character appearances in the My Disney Experience app, and since Stitch is instrumental to your plans, I would suggest looking daily as your vacation draws closer to make sure he is consistently appearing during the holiday season. To reach this feature, you'll select the location icon at the bottom of the home screen, scroll to 'Characters' on the banner you'll see at the top of the screen, tap 'Show List', and then scroll through the list that populates. If Stitch is on the list, he's currently scheduled to appear! Just tap his adorable photo to see when and where you can meet him.
In my experience, his queue builds quickly, so you'll want to arrive early for the appearance you'd like to make the big reveal. I also suggest speaking to the Cast Member manning the queue upon arrival so that they can ensure your vision for the reveal aligns with current protocol for character interactions and communicate the plan to Stitch. Keeping Cast Members informed is also crucial for making sure the
Disney PhotoPass photographer doesn't miss a moment of the reveal.
In addition to your reveal with Stitch, you might also consider celebrating with a pink or blue balloon or by personalizing a celebration button. Our little girl hasn't yet made it to The Most Magical Place on Earth, but we've collected celebration buttons and snapped cherished photos during my pregnancy at both Disneyland Resort and Disneyland Paris. Making Disney destinations a part of our journey to becoming parents has truly made everything more magical. I can't wait for you to experience it for yourself!
I'm absolutely thrilled for you, Amanda, so I hope this information helps you plan for your visit! If you'd like any additional suggestions for celebrating your little one at
Walt Disney World Resort, don't hesitate to stop back by
planDisney. You've got a friend in me!
Thinking Happy Thoughts,
Lizzie
