We just found out that we can make it to Disneyland for the holidays, but all the restaurants we wanted to go to are booked. Can we still walk-in without a reservation and what's the average wait time?

Hello there, Megan! Welcome to planDisney. Thanks so much for stopping by!

What fun it is to hear that you get to experience Disneyland during the holidays! There is so much magic to experience in both the parks as well as the rest of the resort. I'm sorry to hear that all the dining locations you were interested in don't have any current openings. Reservations open up 60 days in advance and can fill up quickly, but there are still some possible options for you to be able to make your plans come true. Unfortunately, I cannot say for sure if a location will let you walk up without a reservation or what an average wait time is because this can vary greatly by location and day. There are so many great quick-service options throughout the park, so I know you will be able to have lots of great options available to you. The best part about quick service is that a lot of locations are available for mobile ordering in the Disneyland app! It's my favorite feature to maximize my day.

First off, my recommendation would be to just keep checking the reservations, especially as you get closer to your visit. Guests cancel and modify plans all the time, so you have a chance to possibly grab something last-minute. Reservations at most locations just need to be cancelled at least 2 hours in advance, so you may even get something the day of if you check the Disneyland app. Lastly, some locations have a mobile walk-up list that you can try to add your name to on the day of your reservation. You will do this through the Disneyland app by finding the location on the map or searching for the location and finding the option on the information page of the location. If the walk-up list isn't taking reservations or it's not an option, I suggest talking to a Cast Member at that location to see if they are taking same-day reservations or have open availability.

Megan, I am sending you all the pixie dust so that you will be able to get some reservations you had hoped for! Be sure to leave room, or maybe even plan to snack your way through Festival of the Holidays for a meal option!

Well hello there, friend! I'm Carrie, a work-from-home mom and military wife who currently calls sunny San Diego home. You'll find my family in the parks braving drops and coasters to work up our appetite to take as many snack breaks as we can. While Disneyland is our home away from home, we love trying to make a Walt Disney World Resort vacation happen at least once a year now too. All my friends know I'm the go-to for Disney advice, so I'm here to help you plan and experience the magic on your visit! Learn More About Carrie
