We just found out that our daughters Make A Wish got granted and we are going to Disney World. . .Any important tips for traveling with a 2yr old and 5 yr old?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Kari ~

I am so thrilled to hear that your daughter's Make*A*Wish (MAW) trip to Disney World was granted!

Bring along some favorite small toys to keep them entertained in the room and while waiting in the parks. Since it is your daughter's (MAW) trip, hopefully you won't be waiting in long lines for attractions but you'll likely still have to wait on buses and for parades to start so it will help to be able to entertain them - especially your 2 year old.

Take snacks in a non-spill container and a sippy cup for your 2 year old that you can keep in line. I've found that kids that are well fed and hydrated are less irritable and do better. I try to keep it healthy but sometimes a Mickey lollypop helps.

Try to stick to their schedules. If they are early risers at home, go to the parks when they are at their freshest. Try to stick to naptimes. If kids are well rested and not worn out, they do better in the parks.

Take stroller breaks. Your 2 year old will need time to just be free to roam and stretch his/her legs.

Plan some time to relax outside of the parks and take a break from them. We usually plan at least half a day at our resort to swim and explore.

Don't over plan every minute of your trip and take your time. It wears little ones out and can be rough on children with special needs. Follow your children's lead. Let them explore and just be kids. If you see they've had enough for the day, pack it up and head back to your resort. You may not get to see everything on your trip but you can make the most of everything you do.

I'm limited in space but please feel free to visit with any other questions. It is my pleasure to assist you!

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
