Hi! I've found conflicting answers for this, but are there any locations at Disney Springs that don't accept Disney Gift Cards? What if it's a novelty gift card that has to be scanned instead of swiped, like the Batuuan Spira?

Bright suns, Rebecca! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! How exciting that you’re planning ahead for a fall visit to the Happiest Place on Earth, and will be stopping by Disney Springs with some Gift Cards in hand! Shopping and Dining at Disney Springs is an incredible way to spend family time while on a Walt Disney World vacation. That Batuuan Spira Gift Card is simply out of this world, and I am sure it is burning a hole in your pocket! There would simply be no greater place to spend it than Disney Springs… except maybe Batuu of course!

Regarding where you will be able to exchange this form of currency, I asked a member of Guest Services, and they told me that Disney Gift Cards of all sorts are accepted at almost all Disney World shopping and dining locations. Exceptions do exist, and gift cards may not be accepted at locations where Disney merchandise is not sold, or at freestanding snack and souvenir kiosks that do not have the proper machines with which to process the gift card. This is also true of the famous Walt Disney World balloon vendors!

Regarding your amazing gift card/token which is unable to be swiped, Guest Services let me know that as long as it has numbers which can be typed in, it should not be a problem. In fact, many restaurants and shops will likely be able to scan it right at the register. As a backup, I would recommend wearing your Magic Band during your visit to Disney Springs if you are staying on property at a Disney Resort Hotel, as you will be able to use it to make many purchases if your Spira gift card funds ever run out. I would also suggest bringing a backup credit card with you, so as not to miss out on any of the amazing treasures you may find along your adventures!

Rebecca, I hope that this information is useful to you as you continue to make magical plans! Please do not hesitate to come back to see us anytime we can be of help in the future!

May the Force Be With You!
