Is the fort wilderness meadow pool and splash pad open in December?

    Hiya, Melanie! Welcome to planDisney!

Thanks for sharing your rootin’ tootin’ Fort Wilderness question with us. Winter may not be as cold in Kentucky as it is in Minnesota, but I’m sure it’s chilly enough that you’ll appreciate some time in the Florida sunshine this December. And Fort Wilderness has you covered with all sorts of outdoor activities, including the newly renovated pool area

I’m pleased to report that Walt Disney World Resort hotel pools are heated to a comfortable 82 degrees Fahrenheit and open to guests during the winter months. Of course, there is always the possibility that extreme cold, inclement weather, or unplanned maintenance issues temporarily close the pools, but let’s hope that doesn’t happen during your stay. You’ll find two pool areas at Fort Wilderness: the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool and Wilderness Swimmin’ Pool, which you can read about here

As you continue to plan for your December visit to the Vacation Kingdom of the World, be sure to check the Disney Parks Blog regularly for previews of all the holly jolly happenings. They’ve already shared preliminary details for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Jollywood Nights, and the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, and I’m counting down the days until the Foodie Guides are released. Maybe your family is different, but that's the critical info I need to plan a great vacation!

I hope this is helpful, Melanie. Don’t hesitate to come back if you have more vacation planning questions. You're as welcome as can be at planDisney!

    Magical travels!
